Release Date: April 4, 2006

Jeremy DufferThe Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Squad, U.S. Marshal’s Mid-South Fugitive Task Force and other Memphis area law enforcement officers are looking for a Nashville man wanted on charges of child rape and aggravated sexual battery.

Detectives with the Metropolitan-Nashville Police Department say Jeremy Duffer, 35, of Nashville, molested a 12 year-old boy on several occasions in September, 2004.

Duffer failed to show for his court appearance last month and now Nashville investigators believe he might be in the Memphis area.

At the time he molested the young boy, Jeremy Duffer worked at a Nashville fantasy role- playing game store that is frequented by children and teenagers.

Duffer then befriended the young boy who was a customer. Later, Duffer coaxed the young boy to his apartment and gave him toys in exchange for the sex acts.

Investigators believe Duffer may have also molested other children in the Nashville area.

Duffer is known to frequent stores specializing in the fantasy role-playing scenarios.

Parents of children who frequent stores of this type are urged to talk to their children to see if they might have seen Duffer.

Jeremy Duffer is believed to be driving a 1980’s or early 1990’s blue Pontiac 6000 or Chevrolet Citation.

The car has chrome bumpers, considerable rust around the wheel wells and dents on the driver’s side. The car is missing a hubcap on the right front wheel.

Duffer was indicted on seven counts of child rape, four counts of aggravated sexual battery involving a child and two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

A picture of Jeremy Duffer is being published with this news release. He has lost weight from his earlier picture and may have combed straight hair verses the curly style in 2004.
