Cario Dotson |
Shelby County Sheriff's Office Street Crimes Bureau Deputies arrested a Memphis man tonight wanted for attempting to rob a liquor store in Nashville last weekend. During the incident, the man's accomplice, also from Memphis, was shot and killed by a customer in the store.
Street Crimes Bureau Deputies arrested Cario Dotson, 20, just after 7 o'clock. Deputies tracked Dotson to a friend's house in the 400 block of Fernwood in South Memphis. Dotson was taken into custody without resistance.
During the April 26 incident in Nashville, Metro Police detectives say Dotson and Devin Hogan, also 20, were confronted by a customer in the liquor store. The customer, armed with a pistol, shot and killed Hogan. Dotson fled the scene.
Nashville Police detectives contacted Shelby County Deputies who have worked continuously for the past couple of days to find Dotson. Deputies quickly developed leads that led them to arrest Dotson in South Memphis tonight.
Metro Nashville Police Detectives will be coming to Memphis to question Dotson. They will then take him back to Nashville where he will face an aggravated robbery charge.
Metro Police did not charge the man who shot Hogan in the liquor store. The customer had a permit to carry a gun.
