Neighborhood watch leaders and parents of students at Southwind High School will take part in a community forum at the school next week.

“We’ll be presenting information about crime trends in the South-East Shelby County area. Perhaps more importantly, members of the command staff and School Resource Deputies at Southwind High School will talk about ways to combat and prevent crime,” said Shelby County Sheriff Mark H. Luttrell, Jr.

The forum will be held Tuesday, November 13 at 6:30 p.m.  Southwind High School is located at 7900 East Shelby Drive.

“This will be a unique opportunity for us to talk personally with the Sheriff and his staff.  This is our first year, and it is important the parents of students at Southwind High School know we are doing all we can to keep the campus and surrounding neighborhoods as safe as possible,” said Linda Patterson, Principal at Southwind High School.

Also during the forum, area neighborhood association members will talk about ways they are strengthening the South-East Shelby County area through routine meetings about crime and quality of life issues.
