Shelby County Sheriff’s detectives have charged a 13 year-old boy with aggravated assault for turning his pit bulldog loose on a neighbor in Northaven last night.

Just before 10 o’clock, Deputies were called to the 4900 block of Mike Drive. They found Anjelica Warner, 18, injured with a dog bite.

Ms. Warner told detectives she had walked down the street earlier in the evening to stop an argument between her relatives and some neighbors.

As she approached the group, a 13 year-old boy holding a pit bulldog turned the animal loose which bit Ms. Warner on the leg.

The teenager was arrested and taken to Juvenile Court. Ms. Warner was taken to Baptist East Hospital where she was treated and released.
