Deputies Conducting Enforcement Efforts in North Shelby County

Deputies with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a “zero tolerance” crime suppression effort in the Northaven and Woodstock areas of North Shelby County this evening.

“Our Deputies will be sending a clear message about the importance of driving safely. This enforcement saturation is part of our continuing efforts to have additional officers patrolling neighborhoods through a grant from the Governor’s Highway Safety Office,” said Shelby County Sheriff Mark H. Luttrell, Jr.

Deputies will be targeting impaired driving, speeding, aggressive driving and seatbelt violations. Additionally, officers will be on high alert for other reports of crime.

Last evening, deputies concentrated their efforts in North Shelby County near Highway 51 at Fite Road and along Raleigh-Millington Road just north of the Loosahatchie River. Here are the results of that enforcement effort:

129 TOTAL TRAFFIC CITATIONS

  • 121 Regular Traffic Citations Issued
  • 8 Courtesy Citations Issued

Seven (7) TOTAL MISDEMEANOR ARRESTS

  • 5 Misdemeanor Citations for Traffic Charges
  • 1 Physical Arrest for DUI
  • 1 Physical Arrest for Misdemeanor Weapon Possession
    (One (1) handgun seized)
