Shelby County Deputies Conduct Zero Tolerance Enforcement Effort In North Memphis

Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Deputies once again concentrated their efforts to address crime in the Memphis and Shelby County area. Last night, Deputies flooded North Memphis neighborhoods with officers.

For several hours, Sheriff’s Office Deputies assigned to the Reserve Deputy, Gang, S.W.A.T. and Narcotics units patrolled the area near Hollywood at Chelsea.

“We want to send a clear message to the people who live and work in these neighborhoods the Sheriff’s Office will be working in partnership with the Memphis Police Department to address crime. Our staff has been working with the Rhodes College/Hollywood Springdale Business Partnership as well as the Parent Teacher Organization at Springdale Elementary School,” said Sheriff Mark Luttrell, Jr.

Deputies took a “zero tolerance” approach to all crimes in the area. Here are the results of the crime suppression effort last night:

  • Arrests-10 (3 adult felony, 1 misdemeanor and 6 misdemeanor citations)
    Those receiving misdemeanor citations require booking at the Records and Identification Section at the Shelby County Jail and mandatory court appearance
  • Traffic Tickets-32 (12 violations, 20 courtesy citations)
  • Stolen Cars Recovered-1
  • Weapons Recovered-1
