David Williams

Shelby County Sheriff's detectives say David Williams, 29, of Memphis, was the man found shot to death last night inside a house in the Kerrville community near Millington. Deputies say Williams often visited the house at 9229 Kerrville-Rosemark Road.

Investigators say Williams’ body was found by Sheriff’s Deputies about 9:30 p.m. Deputies had been led to house by Tracy Tallent, 23. Tallent lives at the house.

About 9:00 p.m., Tallent drove to the Millington Police Department and told officers she had been threatened by Williams. With Tallent’s house being outside the Millington City Limits, Shelby County Sheriff's Deputies were contacted.

Deputies met Tallent at the Millington Police Department and went with her back to her home. Once inside, Deputies found Williams’ body. He had been shot several times. No other people were in the house.

Tallent told Sheriff’s detectives Williams was alive when she left the house.

There have been no arrests in the case. Investigators have yet to determine a motive for Williams’ murder. This is the third homicide investigated by Deputies so far this year.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH or the Shelby County Sheriff's Office General Investigation Bureau at (901) 545-5600.
