Off-Duty Sheriff’s Deputy Stabbed This Evening In Frayser

A Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputy is recovering at the Regional Medical Center tonight after he was stabbed in the parking lot of the Sonic restaurant at 3332 Overton Crossing.
Deputy Sheriff Patrick Talley was off-duty at the time of the stabbing, which happened just before six o’clock this evening.
Deputy Talley, who was wearing his department uniform, had stopped at the restaurant for some food. While there, he saw a fight break out in the parking lot.
When he attempted to settle the dispute, a woman stabbed him in the chest.
Deputy Patrick Talley is 41 years old. He serves the Sheriff’s Office as a Criminal Court Bailiff. He has been in that position since June of 2002. Deputy Talley hired on with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office in 1987 as a Deputy Jailer and then in 1989 he became a Deputy Sheriff. Besides his bailiff duties, Deputy Talley has served in the Civil and Fugitive Divisions.
Details about the stabbing are being released by the Memphis Police Department.

On Saturday January 7, 2006 Erika Bridgewater agreed to speak with investigators regarding the stabbing that took place at the Sonic restaurant located at 3332 Overton Crossing on Friday January 6, 2006 where Deputy Patrick Talley was wounded. Bridgewater stated that she went to the restaurant to confront employee Kimberly Moore about an affair that she was having with her boyfriend, Rodney Francis. After the two fought briefly they were separated. Bridgewater retrieved a knife from her pocket and charged Moore. Officer Talley was stabbed once while attempted to regain order at the business. Officer Talley is currently listed in stable condition at The Med. Bridgewater was charged with Criminal Attempt Second Degree Murder (2 counts).
