Sheriff’s Office Assists in Search for Cincinnati, Ohio area Murderer

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the West Chester, Ohio Police Department in its search for a man who is believed to have murdered a woman in that community last weekend. West Chester is located about 20 miles from Cincinnati.
According to West Chester detectives, Melvin Ramon Mejia (pronounced Ma-hee-ah) has ties to the Mid-South and may be in Memphis or Mississippi.
He is wanted for murdering a woman in West Chester who was found stabbed to death this past Sunday night about 10:00.
Mejia is Hispanic, 39 years-old, weighs about 200 pounds and stands about 5 feet 7 inches tall.
He was seen driving a black, 4-door 1998 Toyota Camry with an Ohio tag, DKE8742. The vehicle has a sunroof which may be covered with plastic.
