Brandon D. Hodges aka Brandon Webb

Rickey Lee Farmer

A Shelby County Sheriff’s Narcotic Deputy shot a man last night who pointed a gun at him and other deputies during a raid at the home where he was living.

Brandon D. Hodges, also known as Brandon Webb, 19, was shot one time near the stomach.  Hodges was taken to the Regional Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition.

Narcotics Deputies had gone to the house in the 3100 block of Hoskins Extended just before 9 o’clock.  Officers had a search warrant for marijuana that was allegedly being sold from the house.

Deputies knocked on the front door and identified themselves.  When there was no answer, officers pried open both a security door and the wooden door behind it.

As the Deputies walked into the house, again identifying themselves, they were confronted by Hodges armed with a pistol.

Deputies say they repeatedly told Hodges to drop his weapon.  When he continued to point the gun at the Deputies, one of the deputies shot Hodges.

Additionally, a female pit bull dog inside the house charged at the deputies.  Another Deputy shot the dog which is recovering at a Memphis veterinary clinic.

Deputies say Rickey Lee Farmer, 20, was also inside the house during the raid.  Officers say Farmer lived there with Hodges.

Farmer was not armed and immediately surrendered when Deputies made their way inside the house.
