Release Date: June 22, 2006
Detectives are sorting out details of three unrelated shootings in Shelby County last evening. Two of the shootings happened in South-East Shelby County, another one happened in North Shelby County.
The first shooting happened about 11 p.m. in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant on Hacks Cross near Centennial.
Investigators say Rebecca Harris, 18, suffered a gunshot wound after an argument broke out in a restaurant parking lot between several people.
Detectives say Harris was sitting in a car with a friend when two other men approached her vehicle waiving a pistol. One of the men fired the gun which injured Ms. Harris in the leg.
She was taken to the Regional Medical Center where she was treated and released. Investigators have identified two suspects but have not made any arrests.
In the second shooting, just after 11:30 p.m., also in South-East Shelby County, detectives say three men approached a house in the 6000 block of Plumlee Cove East. They rang the doorbell then walked away from the door.
When the homeowner answered the door, one of the suspects standing in the yard, fired a shot into the front window of the house. No one was hurt.
No arrests have been made in that case.
Finally, in the Northaven area, also about 11:30, another shooting happened at a house in the 800 block of Margie Drive.
Shrieka Fuller, 25, was inside the house with George De La Fuene, 43.
Fuller told detectives another man, Ivory McDaniel, 28, showed up at the house and got into an argument with De La Fuene.
Ms. Fuller said she got a pistol and attempted to break up the argument in the front yard when the gun went off striking De La Fuene in the back.
He was airlifted to the Regional Medical Center where he remains in stable condition.
No charges have been filed in that shooting.
