Home Invasion Victims’ Vehicle Found - Search Continues for Assailants

Release Date: October 27, 2004

Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies are examining a sport utility vehicle today that was stolen from a couple’s home yesterday following their brutal attack.

Memphis Police found the vehicle just after 10 o’clock last night at the Eastwood Apartments at 2973 Getwell in south-east Memphis. A resident reported seeing the vehicle after news reports gave the description of the black 2000 Lincoln Navigator.

Sheriff’s Detectives say about 4:30 yesterday morning, four, possibly five men, attacked Michael and Katrina Perry at their home in the 9400 Block of Plantation Lake Road near Collierville. The men posed as law enforcement officers.

As the couple answered a back door, the men barged their way inside the house. The men then ransacked the home looking for money. Both Mr. and Mrs. Perry were severely beaten with pistols and a cue stick from a pool table. The couple was then taken to a bathroom and bound with duct tape. After finding no money at the house, the men left in the couple’s SUV.

Sheriff’s Detectives say the couple does not know the men who beat them and have no idea why they came to their home.

Anyone with information about what happened should call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH (2274) or the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division at (901) 545-5600.
