Small Plane Damaged During Landing At North Shelby County Airport

A pilot escaped injury today when his single-engine plane was damaged as it landed at Charles Baker Airport near Millington. It happened just after 11:30 this morning.

Witnesses said the plane had already touched down and was traveling down the runway when the nose of the aircraft lurched forward causing the propeller to hit the pavement.

There was only minor damage to the plane. The pilot was the only person on board. The Federal Aviation Authority is investigating the cause of the accident.
