Release Date: June 8, 2007
Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the home of professional golfer John Daly early this morning after Daly said his wife assaulted him.
It happened just before 7 o’clock at John Daly’s home in the 3400 block of Windgarden Cove in East Shelby County. Daly told Deputies he woke up this morning as his wife made small cuts on his face with a steak knife.
Daly, 41, said his wife, Sherrie, 31, lives at another home in Collierville. He said she came to his home after the couple saw each other last night at an East Memphis restaurant.
During this morning’s altercation, Mrs. Daly called for officers to come to the home. However, when Deputies arrived, Mrs. Daly was not there.
Investigators say Daly has the option of filing an Aggravated Assault charge against his wife. Daly has not filed any charge against her.
