Investigators say early Saturday morning (October 4), Gregory Avant, 22, of Somerville, attended a party in Cordova. He and two acquaintances left to go to a restaurant.
The men got into a PT Cruiser driven by David Tolleson, 25, of Somerville. Avant took the front passenger seat and Obrien Hardin, 19, of Arlington, sat in the back. As the men rode through an Arlington neighborhood, Tolleson suddenly stopped the car.
Avant said that’s when he was beaten and robbed by Tolleson and Hardin. The suspects took Avant’s wallet with almost $300 in cash and his watch. Avant was then pushed out of the car near the intersection of Chester and Hayes.
Deputies with the Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Bureau arrested Obrien Hardin last night in Memphis. He has been charged with Robbery.
Anyone with information about David Tolleson is asked to call Detective Matthew Keaton at the Sheriff’s Office General Investigation Bureau at (901) 545-5600 or Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH (2274).
