Ride “Among Friends” Ends With Robbery And Shooting

Brandon NolenShelby County Sheriff's Detectives say what started out as a car ride among five friends ended with one of them shot and critically injured.

It all started when Deputies were called to a field behind a home in the 700 block of Carrolton in the Frayser area just before eleven o'clock Friday night.

Deputies found two men there. Kendrick Collier, 18, of Memphis, reported he had been riding in a car with some friends when he was robbed and shot several times. Collier remains in the Regional Medical Center tonight in stable condition after surgery this past weekend.

Another person in the car, Antonio Lynn, 20, of Memphis, suffered head injuries. He was treated and released at the scene.

Investigators arrested two men shortly after the incident which happened at the dead end of Benjestown Road in North Shelby County.

A teenager, also a passenger in the car, has been charged with Criminal Attempt to Wit First Degree Murder.

Investigators also charged Demond Jones, 20, of Memphis, with Aggravated Robbery.

Detectives are looking this evening for Brandon Nolen, 20, of Memphis, in connection with the robbery and shooting of Collier. Nolen is from the Frayser area. He is a black man, stands 6 feet 2 inches tall, and weighs about 200 pounds. There is no clothing description available.
