Deputies Investigate Robbery and Attempted Robbery At Two Restaurants on Hacks Cross Road in South-East Shelby County
Release Date: August 12, 2005
Shelby County Sheriff’s Detectives say there have been two recent armed robberies at restaurants on Hacks Cross Road in South-East Shelby County. Deputies have arrested two men who they believe are responsible for one of the robberies.
On Wednesday, July 27, 2005, two men wearing ski masks barged into a side entrance of the Captain D’s restaurant at 4209 Hacks Cross about 9:30 a.m.
One of the men, armed with a pistol, threatened the employees. However, no shots were fired and no one was hurt. The suspects, however, grabbed two money bags containing about $400 in cash and ran out of the store.
The next day, detectives charged two men with the robbery. Investigators charged Jeremy Pettis, 18, of Memphis, and Samuel Tippler, 17, also of Memphis, with Aggravated Robbery. Tippler, although a juvenile, will be charged as an adult in the case.
