Robbers Visit North-East Shelby County Service Station Market

Release Date: December 7, 2006

Shelby County Sheriff’s Office detectives continue their search today for two robbers of a service station market last night in North-East Shelby County.

Clerks told deputies the two men, who both wore masks, walked into Kay’s Food Store and BP service station at 3865 New Brownsville Road just after ten o’clock.

One of the robbers had a pistol and demanded money from one of the two clerks on duty.  After taking an undetermined amount of cash, the men ran out of the store towards a nearby neighborhood.  No one was hurt.

Detectives say both of the robbers were black.  One wore a blue tee shirt and blue jeans.  A blue scarf covered his face.

The other robber wore a gray sweat suit with a hood and had on a gray ski mask.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH (2274) or the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office at (901) 379-7625.
