Search Continues For Restaurant Robber In East Shelby County

Shelby County Sheriff’s Detectives continue looking for a man who may be responsible for robbing several restaurants in the East Shelby County area.

Just before 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2005, the man, armed with a pistol, went to a rear entrance of the Zaxby’s restaurant at 3821 Hacks Cross Road. He held the employees at bay in the dishwashing area of the store. But after a few moments, he got very agitated and ran out the restaurant without taking any money.

He is described as a black man, about 6 feet tall, who wore blue shorts, a red tee shirt, a red and white baseball cap, and red and white New Balance tennis shoes.

Sheriff’s Office Detectives have been consulting with both the Memphis Police Department and the Germantown Police Department about the case. Officers from the three agencies now believe the man may be responsible for several restaurant robberies in Germantown, East Memphis and East Shelby County.

Anyone with information about the robbery at the Zaxby’s restaurant at 3821 Hacks Cross is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH (2247).
