Sheriff's Office To Deliver Christmas Gifts To Children at Klondike Elementary School on December 18, 2003 - Sheriff Luttrell to also meet on December 18 with groups to foster community partnerships

Deputies and support personnel with the Shelby County Sheriff's Office will be visiting Klondike Elementary School tomorrow. Klondike is the “Adopt-A-School” for the Shelby County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff's Office employees have donated Christmas gifts for the children at the school. Deputies will be making the delivery on Thursday, December 18, 2003 at 9:30 a.m. Klondike is located at 1250 Vollintine in the North Memphis Area.

Additionally, Sheriff Mark Luttrell, Jr. will be attending two events later in the day to initiate new community partnership.

  • December 18, 2003 at 11:30 a. m., the Sheriff will speak to the “100 Black Men of Memphis” organization. The event will be held at the Leach Family Restaurant at 694 Madison Street. Sheriff Luttrell will be meeting with the organization to see how the Sheriff's Office can work jointly with the group in various community initiatives.
  • Also on Thursday, December 18, 2003, at 2:00 p.m., the Sheriff will be at Clear Channel Broadcasting on Union Avenue Extended near Poplar. The Sheriff will be presenting “Certificates of Appreciation” to Clear Channel Broadcasting, Federal Express, Time Warner Cable, Charter Media and Cingular Wireless for their helping sponsor the “We Are Tomorrow R-U” television show called “Drugs, The True Reality.” The Shelby County Sheriff's Office was the primary sponsor for the show which has aired several times on Memphis TV stations and in other cities across the Mid-South.
