Shelby County Sheriff's Deputies say a Rosemark man was stabbed to death by his son last night. Investigators say the teenager came to the aid of his sister who was being choked by their father.

Just before 8 o’clock last night, Deputies were called to the family’s home in the 9000 block of McCreight Drive in North Shelby County. They found Larry Williams, 50, dead in the living room. He had been stabbed in the back.

Family members told Sheriff’s detectives Williams and his 19 year-old daughter got into an argument and Williams started choking her.

The girl’s 15 year-old brother tried to stop the attack. When Williams refused to let go of his daughter, the young man stabbed his father.

Deputies say this was the second time Williams had attacked his daughter. Relatives say he assaulted her during an argument three weeks ago at the home. However, the family did not report the incident.

Although the circumstances of the stabbing will be reviewed by a Shelby County Grand Jury, no charges are anticipated. Investigators believe Williams’ son acted to protect his sister and other family members.
