Former Special Education Teacher wanted for Aggravated Sexual Battery Arrested After Fleeing to Batesville, MS

On Friday evening, September 7, 2007, members of the U.S. Marshals Service Gulf Coast Regional Task Force (GCRTF) and Batesville Police Officers arrested Larry BOBO, a former Special Education Teacher in Shelby County.

On August 14, 2007, Shelby County Criminal Court issued a warrant for BOBO for Aggravated Sexual Battery. The victim is a minor.

On August 21, 2007, the U.S. Marshals Mid South Fugitive Task Force adopted the case. Task Force Officer Tony Townsend’s investigation of BOBO reveled that BOBO had left Tennessee and had applied for employment with the Panola County School District in Mississippi. TFO Townsend notified the GCRTF of BOBO’s new address and BOBO was arrested at an intersection near his mother’s home in Batesville, MS. BOBO is currently incarcerated at the Panola County Jail, MS awaiting extradition to Shelby County, TN.

The Mid South Fugitive Task Force is a multi-law enforcement agency task force comprised of Deputy United States Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies, and Memphis Police Officers. The Mid South Fugitive Task Force began in August, 2005 and has been responsible for arresting over 700 violent and dangerous fugitives.
