Fugitive Responsible for Shooting Sought By The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office

Zachery Terrell BarrettShelby County Sheriff’s Detectives need the public’s help in finding a fugitive believed to be responsible for a shooting last evening in South-East Shelby County.

Investigators say 18-year-old Zachery Terrell Barrett has been identified as the person who shot 18-year-old Bradley Smith at 3303 Spring Shadow Drive near Tchulahoma at Shelby Drive.

Detectives say Smith was seriously injured in the shooting. He was in surgery for several hours and remains in critical condition tonight at the Med. Investigators believe the shooting resulted after an argument between the two men over money. Shelby County Sheriff’s Detectives say Barrett has an outstanding warrant for Violation of Probation.
