Marlon Quarles |
Deputies have caught up with a fugitive wanted for Identity Theft Trafficking. The man now faces an additional charge of possessing stolen property.
Marlon Quarles, 35, of Memphis, was arrested at a Cordova grocery store parking lot about 8:30 this past Friday night. Deputies received a tip that Quarles was in a white Chevrolet Tahoe near Dexter and Germantown Road.
After arresting Quarles, Deputies found designer Gucci purses worth $16,000 inside the vehicle. Sheriff’s detectives say the purses were stolen recently from a Macy’s department store in Indianapolis, Indiana.
This past September, Sheriff’s detectives arrested Quarles and two other people for using stolen credit cards to buy electronics equipment, household items and clothes at stores in Memphis, Shelby County, Florida and Mississippi. Deputies say the cards were stolen during vehicle burglaries. At the time, Sheriff’s detectives charged Quarles and two accomplices involved in the theft ring.
Marlon Quarles has now been charged with Theft of Property over $10,000. He is being held at the Shelby County Jail on $200,000 bond.
