Deputies, Reserve Deputies and Volunteers with the Sheriff’s Emergency Services Bureau went door-to-door last evening checking on residents in Arlington near Highway 385 and in the Godwin subdivision not far from Tipton County. Roofs were blown off several homes. There were no injuries.

“Throughout the night, Deputies and Emergency Services Bureau volunteers kept watch on areas hit by the storm. Although trees are still down in several neighborhoods, the roads are passable. Our staff will continue to assess damage and help storm victims,” said Shelby County Sheriff Mark H. Luttrell, Jr.

Several neighborhoods were damaged including:

  • 11,000 block Macedonia at Collierville-Arlington
  • 10,000 block of Godwin at Van
  • Highway 385 between Paul Barrett Parkway and Stewart Road

Sheriff Luttrell and part of the Sheriff’s Office command staff responded to the Memphis and Shelby County Emergency Management Agency last evening. Various government and community agencies coordinated the storm relief efforts at the Emergency Operations Center. Other Sheriff’s Office commanders worked at an emergency center set up at the Sheriff’s Office Substation in Arlington. There were no reports of looting.
