Sheriff’s Office recently received hundreds of stuffed animals

Stuffed ToyThe Sheriff’s Office recently received hundreds of stuffed animals from the “Recovering Motorcyclists Association.” The association assists various community agencies through donations of support. The stuffed animals will be given to children who are involved in crime events or traffic crashes investigated by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

The animals will help calm the fears of children who are involved in upsetting events.

“We appreciate the kindness shown to the Sheriff’s Office through the Recovering Motorcyclists Association. Indeed when community groups such as this partner with law enforcement, so many good things can be accomplished to help others,” said Shelby County Sheriff Mark H. Luttrell, Jr.

“Stuffed animals presented to the Sheriff’s Office on July 28, 2006. Accepting the toy animals were Chief Deputy Bill Oldham, Patrol Captain Bill Sears, Crime Prevention Lieutenant Lee Newkirk and other Deputies and support staff.”
