Shelby County Sheriff’s Office To Host S.W.A.T. Team Competition

Local, state and national law enforcement agencies will have representatives in Memphis next week to test the skills of their “Special Weapons and Tactics” officers. The week-long event will be hosted by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. team.

“The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office has hosted the competition for the past several years. It’s a time we put our training to the supreme test. With critical, life-threatening events facing us routinely, competitions like this keep our deputies ready to meet those challenges,” said Shelby County Sheriff Mark H. Luttrell, Jr.

The competition will test S.W.A.T. officers in several categories of expertise. Here’s next week’s schedule:
