A news conference will be held this morning at 11 o'clock a.m. at the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, 201 Poplar Avenue, 9th Floor Conference Room. The Metro Gang Unit netted several arrests yesterday in a countywide effort to find people wanted on various charges. Information about this a multi-jurisdictional effort will be discussed at the news conference.

Representatives of the Shelby County Sheriff's Department, Memphis Police Department and the Shelby County Attorney General's office will be present.

Shelby County Sheriff Mark Luttrell announced today along with Memphis Police Director Walter Crews and Shelby County Attorney General Bill Gibbons, the Metro Gang Unit arrested ten people with suspected ties with gangs on a variety of charges.

Metro Gang Unit members armed with more than 100 warrants fanned out to various parts of Memphis and Shelby County in the early morning hours on October 29, 2002. Within a few hours, the following were arrested:
