Teenager Arrested For Recent Shooting in South East Shelby County

Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested a 17 year-old Shelby County boy for shooting a young woman last week at a restaurant parking lot on Hacks Cross Road.

Last Tuesday evening (June 20) just after 10:30, Rebecca Harris, 18, of Shelby County, was shot in the leg.

Ms. Harris was sitting in a car at the restaurant in the 3800 block of Hacks Cross near Centennial when two young men approached the vehicle. One of the two had a pistol and shot her.

Ms. Harris was taken to the Regional Medical Center where she was treated and released.

Deputies arrested the teenager this past Friday evening (June 23) and charged him with Criminal Attempt 2nd Degree Murder. He’s being held at Juvenile Court.

Deputies are still looking for the other young man involved in the shooting.

Due to the suspect’s age, his name is not being released.
