UPDATE - The 15-year old boy is still in critical condition at the MED. Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies have located the red Pontiac Sunfire pictured above that was seen leaving the scene of the incident which occurred in the 6600 block of Nelson Way, in South Shelby County. Detectives have identified the two individuals that were in the vehicle and they have been questioned in regards to the shooting. It has been determined that these two individuals are not the shooters and they have been released. No arrests have been made at this time. |
Shelby County Sheriff's Deputies continue their search today for the person who shot a 15 year-old boy last evening in South Shelby County.
A Sheriff's Deputy found him in the backyard of a home in the 6600 block of Nelson Way about 8 o'clock.
The Deputy was walking in the neighborhood after several neighbors heard gunshots in the area.
Deputies say the teenager lives in the neighborhood.
Investigators are still trying to determine whether the young man was part of an altercation with others or whether he was hit by a stray bullet.
The teenager was taken by helicopter to The Med where he remains in critical condition this morning.
