Investigators say Jerden was involved in a scheme along with 19-year-old Billy Jackson that led to the shooting of 44-year-old Jeff Droke out front of his home in Cordova.
Detectives say Droke told them he saw Jackson in the front yard of his home. As he left the house, he picked up his gun. After confronting Jackson, detectives say Droke was shot several times. Droke was then able to return fire as Jackson drove away from his house. Jeff Droke has now been released from the hospital.
Billy Jackson remains at the Shelby County jail this evening on $50, 000 bond. Due to the nature of the crime, bond for Jason Jerden has been set at $500,000 dollars.
Billy Jackson charged in connection with the shooting on Timber Trail Cove in Memphis on January 22, 2003.
