Shelby County Sheriff's Deputies with the Metro D.U.I. Squad conducted a traffic enforcement initiative this past weekend. The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and Germantown Police Department comprise the D.U.I. Squad.

For several hours this past Saturday night, D.U.I. officers on patrol throughout all areas of Shelby County watched for drivers who were speeding, driving recklessly or impaired by alcohol and drugs.

Here are the results of the enforcement initiative:

• Speeding — 58
• Disregarding a Stop Sign — 10
• Other Shelby County Non-Moving Violations — 7
• Violation of State Registration — 4
• Other County Moving Violations — 1
• No Driver’s License — 1

TOTAL: 81 violations
