Deputies Join Search For Vehicular Homicide Suspect

John Stanley SecrestShelby County Sheriff’s Deputies are working with the Fayetteville, Arkansas Police Department to find a man responsible for allegedly killing a Fayetteville man almost a year ago in that community.

An arrest warrant has been issued for John Stanley Secrest, 21, who has relatives living in the Shelby County area.

Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies located a car last week in Collierville they believe was involved in the incident.  DNA evidence taken from the 2004 Mustang has been linked to Secrest, who at the time of the incident, was living in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

According to the Fayetteville Police Department, Karthikeyan Sennimalai, 28, was killed in the early morning hours on July 2nd of last year. Investigators believe Secrest lost control of his car on a Fayetteville street and ran over Sennimalai as he walked along a sidewalk.

A picture of John Secrest is included in this news release. Investigators say his red hair is now cut short. Secrest is believed to be driving a green 1996 Toyota Corolla with Tennessee plate 651 FHH.
