Woman Driver Dodges Shots From Another Driver Near Northaven

Release Date: January 11, 2006

Billy Biggs, Jr.Shelby County Sheriff’s Detectives have arrested a Northaven man who, while driving his vehicle, fired shots at another vehicle near the North Shelby County neighborhood.

The incident happened on January 7, 2006, just after one o’clock in the afternoon.

Deputies say Dorothy Higgs, 60, of Northaven, told them said she had just turned south on Watkins from Northaven Drive in her Buick Le Sabre when a Dodge Dynasty pulled along side of her vehicle.

The driver of the Dynasty pointed a gun at her car and fired several shots. Two bullets hit the right front wheel of Ms. Higgs’ car. Ms. Higgs was not hurt.

Yesterday, detectives arrested Billy Biggs, Jr., 19, at his Northaven home on Bitter Creek Drive. He was charged with Aggravated Assault and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

Detectives say Ms. Higgs apparently had an argument with another woman riding in the car with Biggs on the day of the shooting.
