Almost 70 Shelby County Sheriff's Office deputies and support personnel focused their attention in the South-East Shelby County areas today. The effort was in response to a rise in home burglaries and other crime in the Shelby County Sheriff's Office patrol districts.

“This is the second time recently we have sent a large group of deputies into the South-East Shelby County area.  Our crime statistics continue to indicate a rise in home burglaries and larcenies in this part of Shelby County.  We want to reassure the residents and business operators in this area that their concerns are our top priority,” said Shelby County Sheriff Mark H. Luttrell, Jr.

For several hours today, deputies assigned to various law enforcement and support bureaus of the Sheriff’s Office conducted the “Zero Tolerance” enforcement effort.
