Deputy Sheriff Timothy H. Dunn Age:40 Died: Friday, October 29, 2004 Cause of Death: Auto Accident while on Assignment

Deputy Dunn died as a result of a traffic crash on Highway 70 at Brunswick Road in East Shelby County. Deputy Dunn was a member of the Gang Unit. Just after six o’clock that morning, Deputy Dunn was on his way to conduct a criminal investigation in the Bartlett area. As his squad car, traveling west on Highway 70, approached the intersection at Brunswick Road, a pickup truck, attempting a north turn on Brunswick, collided with his vehicle. Deputy Dunn died at the scene from his injuries. The driver and passenger in the other vehicle were hurt, but not critically.
