| Deputy Sheriff Edward William Stelling was shot with a shotgun while trying to arrest an armed suspect on June 30th 1945. The gunman was finally shot by Deputy Stelling's partner, Deputy Sheriff Olney Crawford. Stelling lived for 5 more days before succumbing to the massive gunshot wounds. | |
