The Fall 2022 Shelby County Sheriff Floyd Bonner's Citizens’ Academy sessions include lectures, discussions and in-person visits to various Sheriff’s Office divisions including the Shelby County Jail. Citizens’ Academy participants also have the opportunity to accompany patrol officers to see the challenges officers face as they patrol the streets. The goal of the Citizens’ Academy is not only to give the citizens of Shelby County a deeper understanding of who we are and why we do what we do, but to also forge a stronger relationship between the Sheriff’s Office and the community we serve.
The Sheriff Floyd Bonner's Citizens' Academy is scheduled for October 4 - November 3, 2022. Sessions for the Academy are over a four-week period, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm each Tuesday and Thursday. This year's Citizens' Academy is a HYBRID Model: attend in person or virtually!!
