Visitation Rules and Regulations

Must be 18 years old and present a valid photo I.D. (State Driver’s License or Federal I.D.) Special allowances may be approved for persons 65 years of age or older. Temporary Identification valid for up to (30) from the issue date.
Persons under the age if 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times. (1 child per adult) NO EXCEPTIONS
Parents are responsible for the minors they bring into the facility. At no time will a minor be allowed to be unsupervised in the facility.
Juveniles between the age of 13 to 17 years of age will not be authorized to visit unless a School I.D. and “an approved early Dismissal Slip” is provided. All other visitations are after school hours have expired to include Homeschool students.
All visitors must pass a security clearance check of the walk through scanner prior to obtaining authorization to visitation.
Loud talking, use of profanity, obscene language, and/or gestures will not be allowed.
Visitors must dress appropriately- clothing cannot be transparent, too large, tight, short, provocative, offensive in nature, excessive (layered clothing) have/create obvious gaps/exposures, display slogans, logos of a sexual nature, and or symbols of gang or groups threatening to security and explicit reference to obscene or gang, drugs, sex or violence. No tops or bottoms with slits, cuts, tears, rips, holes to expose the clothing or low rider pants. “Tights, leggings leggings to extend to the mid-calf are acceptable with a loose-fitting blouse/top or dress too shorter than the top of the kneecap.
Visitors must wear foot wear at all times. No house shoes accepted.
Persons who have been arrested on either misdemeanor or felony charges within the past (1) year will not be allowed to visit, with the exception of the case(s) mentioned being disposed of to display in the Offender Management System (OMS), nor will any persons wearing a monitoring device (GPS leg monitoring device) of any kind be authorized.
Visitors will not be allowed to bring the following items into the facility:
Food/drinks, tobacco/smoking products, purses, umbrellas, electronic devices (including pagers, smart watches of any kind and cellphones). Exception (1) plastic baby bottle, (1) baby blanket, (1) diaper and a car seat.
Lockers are provided for the public use at a cost of 50¢, quarters only: However, the SCSO will not be responsible for items left in the lockers.

Professional Visitation Rules and Regulations

Professional Visitation are allowed to visit with jail inmates (7) days a week during non-lockdown hours without any time restrictions. Visits outside of normal jail operating hours must be approved by the Chief Jailer or designee.
Professional Visitors are required to present their bar card (attorney) and/or agency I.D. and State photo identification each time when visiting the facility. * Any agency otjer than attorney must have prior approval.
Professional Visitors may only bring in items necessary to conduct interviews for the active visit.
Professional Visitors may also bring with them one (1) Paralegal and/or interpreter, intern or assistant to visit with their client(s) with prior approval.
An inmate’s contact visit with the Professional visitors will be private; however the interview rooms have observation windows for security staff. Security staff will stand outside the interview room and observe.
Only two(2) civilian visitors are allowed during a Parole/Probation visit.
*Examples of acceptable apparel for Professional Visits include dress slacks/skirts to include slacks/skirts, a dress, shirt/blouse, polo style shirts, turtlenecks, suits, (types include pant, skirt and dress) dresses. etc.
Skirts/dresses may be no shorter than the op of the kneecap and slacks should be mid-calf or full length. Shirttails shall normally be tucked in unless designed to be worn otherwise No athletic shorts, jeans, tight or short skirts, T-shirts, see-through clothing and sweatpants. “Tights, leggings and jeggings to extend to mid-calf are acceptable with a loose-fitting blouse/top or dress no shorter than the top of the kneecap.
